1-Why did you choose to sell on Etsy/ and do you sell anywhere else?
I was going thrifting and finding so many great items. Far too much to keep for myself, but that I couldn't bear to leave behind. So, I figured, share the wealth, right? I tried selling on ebay for a while before I switched to Etsy -- I'll never go back! Etsy's sense of community is unrivaled by any other auction site.

2- What is your fave thing to buy on Etsy (whether it be supplies or gifts etc.)
There are so many beautiful and unique pieces on Etsy, but I especially love looking for vintage jewelry. I bought a cameo locket from the user "copelandcottage" a few months back, and it's ended up being one of my favorite pieces.

3-What is your current fave product(not in your store) under 20$?
"
areyoutakingmeout" has an adorable black chiffon dress on sale. Very sexy-secretary.

4- Any advice for new sellers?
Don't get discouraged if you don't sell right away. It takes time for users to discover your shop. Also - add new items frequently! Newer items show up first in searches, so you'll get more exposure if you've recently added your items.

1-Why did you choose to sell on Etsy/ and do you sell anywhere else?
I do not sell anywhere else. I chose to sell specifically on Etsy because I love the unique style, environment and creativity found there. I love the site features, (forums, pounce, treasury, etc). Along with selling on Etsy, I have also marked it as one of my web faves and I continuously find myself browsing around to see what new things/products are out there.

2- What is your fave thing to buy on Etsy (whether it be supplies or gifts etc.) I love to buy handmade gifts. I think it is so cool to give a loved one or friend a one-of-a-kind item. I just sent my mom and handmade tote for Mother's Day...so cool!

3-What is your current fave product(not in your store) under 20$?
I love this
shop and this item! It is so chic!

4- Any advice for new sellers?
Well, I am still pretty new myself. I have only been on Etsy for about a month, but I would say...take great pictures. Your pictures represent your items and although they may be handmade, buyers like to see items that look somewhat professional. And don't shy away from the forums! It's a really fun way to get your name and your shop out there.

I've always wanted to have my own store and etsy made it fast, fun and easy!! I sometimes do local shows like the Junk Bonanza.

2- What is your fave thing to buy on Etsy (whether it be supplies or gifts etc.)
Supplies for mixed media art projects, like vintage trim or millinery. I also love to buy finished pieces from some of my favorite indie artists. It's so fun to have such easy access to an amazing variety of handmade goods.

1-Why did you choose to sell on Etsy/ and do you sell anywhere else?
Why Etsy? I’ve been an observer most of the time, even if I craft since I was a child, but as English is not my mother tongue I was a little scared at first…I always saw it as something BIG and it is also the main reason I decided to be in. I also love the layout and the sense of community between the artists. Teams are a great thing.
Yes I sell in other venues. As I live in Europe is easier for somebody who lives in Germany ie. to buy something in the UE and in euros.

2- What is your fave thing to buy on Etsy (whether it be supplies or gifts etc.)
I have bought both and for sure if I had more budget I would buy more because I find all sort of original well made products for an affordable price! In the case of supplies is such a comfortable way to choose! And let’s say that for being a seller is easier to search and find exactly what you want.

3-What is your current fave product/SELLER(not in your store) under 20$?
This beautiful Florencia textil ring of Mafemaria is my favorite one: delicate, personalized, well presented and for a good price!

4- Any advice for new sellers?
There are so many things to say in order to help new sellers!
a) Take good PHOTOS: never with flash, try to catch up good light… if not, build a light box see the video in this
post in my blog, then edit them (yes, always!) lighten up, net it up, cut it up, etc. and choose a good one to be the main one, it’s important for treasuries and future front pages!
b) Make good DESCRIPTIONS: I have decided to make all of them in English, French and Spanish, those are the languages I speak and then, why not to take advantage of this seeing Etsy so international?
c) TAGS: This was an enormous task to learn for me, and it is an everyday lesson yet… you never know which is the best one, but try…change them if you see they are not ok (they are importante for people who search on Google) see more info in these posts.
1 & 2
d) Be clear in your policies and ALWAYS answer (as soon as you can) to people who contact you even if they don’t seem to buy something from you (they can be good clients and referrals in the future)
e) Participate in, at least, one TEAM (if you sell on Etsy) they can help you a lot, to figure out some things but also to promote your work!

I chose to sell on Etsy because I really like the set up of it, it's great! Easy to learn, not messy, and simple. I also sell on Ebay from time to time but I don't like it as much.

2- What is your fave thing to buy on Etsy (whether it be supplies or gifts etc.)
Soap! I love handmade soap. I could look at soaps on Etsy all day.

Clean and Clearn Morning Burst In Shower Facial-Review/Coupon

So I was watching TV the other day and these 2 fresh faced teens were on. Turns out it was a clean and clear commercial. Now I'm a Neutogena girl myself so I was only half listening. But then I heard the words in shower facial and I perked up. IDK if you guys know this but I have a major problem with buying new things and trying them. SO an in shower facial sounded very cool. So I broke down and bought one. Verdict? I LOVE IT!

It smells great. I had never used anything from the Morning Burst collection. You do have to be careful and read the directions. What you do is apply it kind of thickly to your face it has an almost clay consistency. DO NOT RUB IT IN! Then like the commercial says the steam in your shower melts it in to your skin. After a few minutes then you rub it in all over and I swear you skin will feel great. Now I don't have sensitive skin and this product did not say anything about sensitive skin so keep that in mind. If any of you guys are interested here a coupon.

THAT'S A HARD QUESTION, THERE ARE SO MANY THINGS FOR UNDER $20, HOWEVER, I DID JUST PURCHASE A

1-Why did you choose to sell on Etsy/ and do you sell anywhere else?
I was an Etsy buyer long before I was a seller. I found it because a friend of mine opened a shop there and sent me the link, and I fell in love with it right away. I have tried selling other places online, but they haven't worked out for me. I will probably be selling at a music festival in October, but that will be my first offline experience.

2- What is your fave thing to buy on Etsy (whether it be supplies or gifts etc.)
I generally buy fun things on Etsy - by which I mean gifts for myself. I also try to buy birthday gifts and holiday gifts for family members.

3-What is your current fave product/SELLER(not in your store) under 20$?
I know you asked for one, but I don't think I can pick a single one!
Happy Family has great items under $20, like bags and tee shirts.

Chloe and Boo has some cute accessories made with organza flowers.

4- Any advice for new sellers?
That's a tough question, I am still a new seller myself! I have found the Storque to be extremely helpful. I would recommend that new sellers read the articles, especially those that talk about tagging, how to write descriptions, and, of course, how to take good pictures. Talking in the forums also helps. Other sellers are happy to do shop critiques, and they can really help improve your shop if you're willing to listen and not get defensive.

THESE PENDANTS ARE SEALED VERY WELL, BUT THEY ARE NOT WATERPROOF ENOUGH TO WEAR IN THE SHOWER OR WHILE SWIMMING.
Price: 5.00

1-Why did you choose to sell on Etsy/ and do you sell anywhere else?
I chose to sell on etsy because of the great value that they offer to sellers of handmade wares. I work a full time 9-5 job on top of being a mom to two kiddos, so I do not have the time and energy to go the craft fair route to sell my creations.

2- What is your fave thing to buy on Etsy (whether it be supplies or gifts etc.)
I love to buy my supplies on etsy. I live in a small town on a small island, so it is necessary that I shop online to find the unique items that I need. I also love buying funky stuff for my friends and family, as well as special treats for myself.

3-What is your current fave product/SELLER(not in your store) under 20$?
I am a big fan of the cool shirts for sale in audreys (also a fellow Whidbey islander), as well as the quirky items that
alienphant sells...especially the taco keychains.

4- Any advice for new sellers?
Be patient when sales are slow. The sales usually happen when you least expect (or need them) to happen.

1-Why did you choose to sell on Etsy/ and do you sell anywhere else?
i started selling on etsy when i wanted to find a way to work from home, to avoid the commute and leave the corporate world behind. i made jewelry when i was a teenager amd got back into it a few years ago. it seemed like a perfect match to align myself with etsy. (i also sell on ebay and i am registed to sell on artfire, but have done little over there).

2- What is your fave thing to buy on Etsy (whether it be supplies or gifts etc.)
i am particularly fond of a necklace called the paris trio in silver. it features a replica of the eiffel tower, a swarovski crystal heart and a french "oui" charm. my uncle married a woman from france, i studied french in school and i've travelled there. french inspired things are always on my radar.

3-What is your current fave product(not in your store) under 20$?
my favorite things on etsy under $20.00 come from a shop called
bellaseradesign. an artist named anne from california makes the most delightful cards using vintage images and embellishments like tiny pearls and litle silver tokens. Each card features a ribbon and bow added to further decorate the cards -- they make you want to write to all of your friends, and everyone i've sent them to just adores them. the cards average around $3.00. each. she also does some lovely journals. the themes that run through her line focuses on french themes, birds, flowers and nostalgic images -- all near and dear to my heart.

4- Any advice for new sellers?
my advice to new sellers would be to find your own identity and express that through what you sell and how you convey things in your shop. photos are key but keep your prices real. never stop adding to your selection -- being fresh and constantly listing will add to your success. correspond with your buyers and offer high quality customer service. respond to every sale with a message thanking them for their purchase and letting them know how and when their order was shippes (ship quickly -- I shoot for 24 hour turn around as much as possible). my biggest turn off is ordering from a seller who never makes contact.

1-Why did you choose to sell on Etsy/ and do you sell anywhere else?
I accidentally found Etsy while surfing the internet, thinking of possibly starting my own website to sell my own handmade things. This task seemed so daunting & I had no idea how to begin. But when I found Etsy, I was so excited about the community of people with the same passion I had. It was a perfect fit!
Some of my items are also for sale on other websites, & more recently, my book art is being sold at the Bellevue Art Museum!!

2- What is your fave thing to buy on Etsy (whether it be supplies or gifts etc.)
I love finding gifts on Etsy. It makes me feel all warm & fuzzy buying items for the people I love knowing they'll be unique & lovely & handmade. It also makes me feel good to buy supplies on Etsy---knowing I could obviously go to other online retailers---but wanting to support my Etsy peeps.

3-What is your current fave product and seller(not in your store) under 20$?
My newest favorite seller is
knock knocking. I love all her happy creations. Her adorable little boutonniere's are under $20 & so sweet!! Her blog is always full of inspiration too.

4- Any advice for new sellers?
I would say to make sure you have excellent photos! You always hear this on Etsy, & it is so true. This opens up lots of potential to be featured in treasuries, which could lead to front page exposure. But also: if you have nice, clear, interesting photos, you're more likely to be featured on other people's blogs, etc. And all that exposure is great for your shop & sales!

5-And a favorite quote?
This is a new favorite quote of mine:

Kramer Light Switchplate Cover from dandee.etsy.com

Price: 8.00
From: dandee

1-Why did you choose to sell on Etsy/ and do you sell anywhere else?
I chose etsy because it seems to have the best reputation and is the most recognized handmade selling/buying site online. i also sell my stuff in my bricks and mortar shop here in winnipeg called sew dandee, on art fire and in several other shops canada and the u.s.

2- What is your fave thing to buy on Etsy (whether it be supplies or gifts etc.)
i have an addiction to the body butters here on etsy. i've tried so many different shops and continue to try more. it's totally addictive! and from time to time i buy my partner kookie dolls, too. the stranger the better.

3-What is your current fave product(not in your store) under 20$?
i'm all about upcycling and recycling and recently i found a shop that makes the cutest little snap pouches with fused plastic. her shop is called
SoSheSews and this owl coin purse is my favorite item in her shop right now: i have to admit though, i have a TON of favorites! etsy is a treasure trove of awesomeness!

4- Any advice for new sellers?
number 1, make sure your pictures are clear and bright. that's what will catch someone's eye first. next get your name out there! join groups on etsy and anywhere else online you can. get a blog, a facebook group or page, anything you can do to get your name noticed. and make friends with your fellow sellers. they are your best resource. look at this great opportunity
rquick is giving me with this blog feature! what goes around comes around! (p.s. thanks, rquick!)<---Your Welcome!!

5-And a favorite quote?
hmmmmmmmm i'm not sure i have one. my favorite song lyric has always been from the rolling stones: 'she blew my nose and then she blew my mind.' not sure what that says about me! lol
