Tibetian Amber Eye of Horus Goats Milk Soap 6oz from LostRiverRags

This soap is in the Eye of Horus design. The Eye of Horus represents the Egyptian God, The Falcon Headed God. This symbol was used by the Egyptians, as they believed, to protect them my evil.

You can use this soap in your daily bathing routine or as a hand soap. With its rich lather and goats milk and coconut oil your skin will stay smooth and moisturized all summer long! Use it as a SHAVING soap!

This LARGE bar of soap weights 5.8oz. It is enriched with TIBETIAN AMBER. This is an unisex spa scent, great for both men and woman! It has notes of powder, jasmine, with an oriental note of vanilla. Very musky!

1-Why did you choose to sell on Etsy/ and do you sell anywhere else?
A long time friend told us about Etsy in 2007 and so we signed right up! Etsy is a wonderful place and we knew that from first glance.

Our products are currently in six retail stores as well.

2- What is your fave thing to buy on Etsy (whether it be supplies or gifts etc.)
We purchase most of our Christmas gifts on etsy. I love purchasing cards, baby items, and other great gift items.

3-What is your current fave product/SELLER(not in your store) under 20$?
I just LOVE
Threadmill products. I am in love with her daisy cloths...

4- Any advice for new sellers?
The best advice I can give any new seller (my sister in law just joined so this is fresh in my mind) is patience and dedication. You have to be patient and dedicated to making it work. Also, you must have confidence in yourself and your products.

1-Why did you choose to sell on Etsy/ and do you sell anywhere else?
I chose to sell on Etsy because I really appreciated that this was a website dedicated to those who created something and wanted to share that with others. You can find very unique and one-of-a-kind items, as well as things which are personally handcrafted for you! What kind of store does that?! I also find it extremely affordable compared to other websites. I find more things on this website that I would buy than at actual stores. I occasionally sell things on ebay and my other Etsy site,
Pinskiphoto11.

2- What is your fave thing to buy on Etsy (whether it be supplies or gifts etc.)
I like buying unique gifts for others or unique items for myself (pendants, artwork)

3-What is your current fave product(not in your store) under 20$?
Right now I'm into anything that features birds or bird silhouettes. This
scrabble tile pendant from HomeStudio is awesome!

4- Any advice for new sellers?
Start slowly and figure out what works before investing your money. I like to renew an item even if it's not expired so that it can get relisted.

1-Why did you choose to sell on Etsy/ and do you sell anywhere else?
I choose to sell on Etsy because it has a fresh and inviting look, it is easy to use, and it is free to sign up. The forums are very informative and keeps you connected with other Etsy members. I have a second shop on Etsy at
www.imcreations.etsy.com where I sell pendants (also, under $20!). I also sell on ArtFire: www.imcreations.artfire.com and 1000Markets:www.imcreations.1000markets.com

2- What is your fave thing to buy on Etsy (whether it be supplies or gifts etc.)
I love the ingenuity of eco-friendly products. I love to buy a creation that is recycled and upcycled.

3-What is your current fave product/SELLER(not in your store) under 20$?
I love the products made by
LostRiverRags. This artisan uses natural ingredients in her handmade soaps and eco-friendly soy candles..and most of the items listed are very affordable. Also, I love the creativity by bearlyart where you'll find affordable hand painted wall clocks made from recycled record albums..brilliant!

4- Any advice for new sellers?
Advice to newcomers on Etsy is networking. You need to believe in your product(s) and promote it outside of Etsy, as well. My most important advice is to not allow your business to consume you. There needs to be a balance between family, friends, work, and pleasure.

4- Any advice for new sellers?
Advice: Make sure to fill in ALL the tags for each listing...you'll get a lot more hits! For example if your listing some handmade embellished paper clips I'd tag them as: handmade, supplies, school, home, work, scrapbooking, embellishment, office, paper, clip, bind, sign, metal, and/or whatever colors are on it like orange, green, silver, etc.

1-Why did you choose to sell on Etsy/ and do you sell anywhere else?

I chose to sell on Etsy, cuz I'm shy. So shy I can make myself sick before meeting someone face to face, in any given situation. It's really bad, and I can't seem to talk myself out of being this way.
When I started looking on how to sell my handmade goodies to people other than my family and friends, I found Etsy. There weren't any other internet sites like Etsy that I could find when I started. Ebay - but handmade on Ebay - I just never got into it. Etsy was really easy for me to figure out, and I loved everything I saw on here anyway.
Since I've been selling on Etsy, I have grown a lot more confident with my stuff that I make, I got the courage to contact retail stores. So I now sell to some "walk in retail(mom and pop shop)" stores too.
I just opened an ArtFire account, but right now, my loyalty is to Etsy. I put a lot of time into my shop, in hopes it pays off in good ways.

2- What is your fave thing to buy on Etsy (whether it be supplies or gifts etc.)

Gifts! I love buying gifts on Etsy. Don't get me wrong, I buy some of my supplies on here too, but gifts are my favorite. The thing that bites is I usually want the gift for myself when I get it. So I now have to buy 2 of everything! You can't find gifts for people anywhere else like you can on Etsy. Plus it really is one stop shopping for me. I've never had a rude seller, and the service is always over my expectations, as well as the product. I don't understand people who don't know about Etsy.

3-What is your current fave product(not in your store) under 20$?
oh that's kinda tough for me, but i have to go with the handsoaps that
Foliage makes. they look like little people hands, and doll hands, but it's soap. hand handsoap. brilliant! i want to give them to everyone i know. it's actually quite disturbing how much i really like them when it comes down to it.

4- Any advice for new sellers?

of course the given advice is: list
but, you should buy at least 2 or 3 things before you start selling your stuff. then you know the other end of the deal. and that is so important! i think you should click on everything! everything that is clickable, you will learn if you look for the answers. forums, storque articles, alchemy, find a team, and ask! i yet to come in contact with a rude seller. it's pretty easy to make, ummm, Etsy Friends, i guess you would call them. Be honest, when you are new, say you are new and you don't know what you are doing, but that you are giving it your best. And remember, treat others how you want to be treated. I believe you can make your shop work any way you want it to. It just depends what direction you want to go with it. Ya gotta have a goal when you start, even if it changes later.

5-And a favorite quote?

i don't know who said this but i really like...

"the blind lead the blind, who tell it to the dumb, who brag about it to the deaf"
hahahaha, i always smile if not giggle when i say it too.

if you want a deeper quote,
this ones pretty deep thoughtish, again, i have no idea who said this, but i think of it often, so often it's like i'm reminding myself
"...if we look at our lives, we will see that most of the time we do things just to please others, just to be accepted by others, rather than living our lives to please ourselves. that is what happened to our freedom"

1-Why did you choose to sell on Etsy/ and do you sell anywhere else?

My reason for starting a shop on etsy was to provide myself with a second income, I was in a point in my life where I was struggling to make ends meet. Etsy gave me the opportunity to sell my photo manipulations and really create a presence for myself on the internet. I currently have a shop on artfire (www.mymagicme.artfire.com ) and 1000markets (http://www.1000markets.com/users/mymagicme).

2- What is your fave thing to buy on Etsy (whether it be supplies or gifts etc.)

I am a HUGE makeup lover. I love, adore and cant get enough makeup!

3-What is your current fave product and seller(not in your store) under 20$?

My Favorite product and Seller would have to be The Well and Spindle.
And they are all my favorite items, I just love the magic behind each of her folk inspired products!

4- Any advice for new sellers?

Yes actually, alot of new sellers are easy discouraged when they dont get a sale as soon as they open. Things take time and you must remember that there are hundreds of other sites you are up against for the same amount of attention. New seller should think about what sets them apart from others, and expose yourself to the public as much as possible. This means become a common person in the forums and join as many network groups as you are willing to dedicate your time to. Join twitter, facebook, plurk and other networking sites will NOT help if you do not use them on a regular basis. Also remembering to put in the hours! I work from 9am til 2am with some breaks in between. Think about being a child in a HUGE arena of adults screaming on the top of your lungs... scream loud enough, long enough and people will begin to notice you are there.

5-And a favorite quote?

"You gotta be in it to win it." If you are engrossed in work and hustling 150% of your time, you will go places. Put in the hours, and I promise they will pay off.

1-Why did you choose to sell on Etsy/ and do you sell anywhere else?
I sell only on etsy. There's no place better for me to reach people who might be into my creations. My items are very vintage inspired and etsy folks seem to appreciate that. Plus, etsy is so easy to use for buyers and sellers alike, and i love how easy it is to communicate.

2- What is your fave thing to buy on Etsy (whether it be supplies or gifts etc.)
I scour etsy's supplies section often for great deals on lace, trims, antique buttons, old retro fabric.. anything i can find to work into my own items!

1-Why did you choose to sell on Etsy/ and do you sell anywhere else?

I was originally selling on my own website, www.elementnineteen.com. At the same time, I was buying a lot of handmade gifts from Etsy for friends, as I love all items that I see on Etsy. After realizing that I wouldn't have to spend sleepless nights updating my own website (HTML can get extremely messy when coding at 2AM!), I made the jump. Etsy makes it easy to list!

2- What is your fave thing to buy on Etsy (whether it be supplies or gifts etc.)

My favorite thing to buy, for myself, are housewares. I love all the handmade porcelain items on Etsy. They're so unique and fun; it's like accessorizing, but for my house! Aside for little trinkets for myself, I like to buy gifts for friends on Etsy. I usually try to make sure at least 50% of any gift is handmade.

3-What is your current fave product(not in your store) under 20$?

I love these "Lil Squirrel Desk Buddies" by BROOKLYNrehab. I actually bought myself a pair a couple weeks ago, and they are just adorable! At $18, how could you go wrong?

4- Any advice for new sellers?

Don't give up! Keep listing, and relisting whenever you make new items. By listing frequently, your items will always be at the top of the search pages, which is a big eye-catcher for most shoppers.

5-And a favorite quote?

Usually I don't quote songs, but this line has always stuck with me:

1-Why did you choose to sell on Etsy/ and do you sell anywhere else?
A friend of mine started selling on etsy and she reccomended it to me. I also have shops on ShopHandMade.com & Artfire.com, but etsy is by far the best for me.

2- What is your fave thing to buy on Etsy (whether it be supplies or gifts etc.)
I'm currently addicted to briolette beads... I can get them here by the pair and not have to commit to an entire strand until I know that they'll be good sellers!

3-What is your current fave product(not in your store) under 20$?
Ellabellamay has the most adorable elephants for babies. I gave one as a gift and it was a big hit!

4- Any advice for new sellers?
I'm still tring to figure this "etsy" thing out (after over a year!). A page on facebook.com is free and I hear that advertising there is good. Don't waste your money on "pay per click" ads or "search engine submission" sites. Just add something during peak hours every day or two to stay current in the etsy search engine (Sunday I get the most views).
