King Kong - Zippered Pouch from WinterLights.etsy.com

Features:
♥Lined in the same fabric
♥Fully interfaced
♥Black zipper
♥Measures 5.5" X 4.5"
Price: 8.00

1-Why did you choose to sell on Etsy/ and do you sell anywhere else?

I do not sell anywhere but Etsy currently. I am emphatically enthused to have found what I consider to be the highest quality site for us artisans in existence. Nowhere else compares!

2- What is your fave thing to buy on Etsy (whether it be supplies or gifts etc.)

I buy a good majority of my supplies on here, but have recently began to treat myself more to fun things such as clothing and accessories. Every time a birthday or holiday rolls around I try and stick to Etsy as well.

3-What is your current fave product(not in your store) under 20$?

It changes constantly, but I've been eying this
headband for a while now, as well as the rest of the amazing shop!

4- Any advice for new sellers?

Don't give up. It's trite but true! Don't sell yourself short when it comes to pricing. Do your research in regards to self-promotion, shop appearance, getting more views, etc., because you have to put forth the effort in order to get your name out there!

5-And a favorite quote?

It changes with my mood, but one my favorites is by Edgar Allen Poe. "I became insane, with long intervals of horrible sanity."

1-Why did you choose to sell on Etsy/ and do you sell anywhere else?
I choose etsy because I've always admired all the lovely items you can find and because everything is so unique and handmade. Etsy is also a great vehicle for the aspiring artists out there at home just looking to get their names out there. Including
etsy, I sell at feyhandmade.com. as well Lola's Fresh Produce and Miss Ruth's Time Bomb in Carlisle, PA.

2- What is your fave thing to buy on Etsy (whether it be supplies or gifts etc.)
My fav thing to buy on esty is probably great vintage clothes and accessories. I'm a vintage lover!

3-What is your current fave product(not in your store) under 20$?
I love these
little linen and lace pouches from Track and Field Designs. I love owls and she incorporates such neat designs into all her items. Love them!

4- Any advice for new sellers?
My advice would be to keep up with all the etsy news on the Storque as well as buying showcases from time to time and listing as often as possible. I also will advertise on social networking sites such as twitter and facebook. Its always good to get as much exposure for your products as possible. You never know when another sale will pop up!

5-And a favorite quote?
“My favorite fruit is grapes. Because with grapes, you always get another chance. ‘Cause, you know, if you have a crappy apple or a peach, you’re stuck with that crappy piece of fruit. But if you have a crappy grape, no problem - just move on to the next. ‘Grapes: The Fruit of Hope.’” -Demetri Martin

Furture Plans...

For Later...

Outside my window... nighttime and humidity.

I am thinking... I am so glad that I am off tomorrow and I am wondering why I need a period?

I am thankful for... my health, my husband, and my family.

From the kitchen...dirty dishes, Popeyes, and pasta =)

I am wearing... Hunter green polo and jean shorts.

I am reading... a book about Anne Franks best friend during the time Anne Frank was in hiding.

I am hoping... to hang by the pool, go to the beach, and maybe get my apartment in order.

I am creating... new jewelry, taking pics for my etsy shop.

Around the house... stuff everywhere, a suitcase w/clothes still in it from VA, and lots of jewelry.

One of my favorite things... is my car. It was a really nig deal for me to buy it on my own and keep up w/ the payments even in this academy.

A few plans for the rest of the week... off tomorrow. Work Fri,Sat, and Sun. Hating life cause I will be cursed w/horrid cramps I'm sure!

1-Why did you choose to sell on Etsy/ and do you sell anywhere else?
I chose to sell on Etsy after hearing from friends that they shopped and sold there and had good experiences. I'd met some of the Etsy staff at craft fairs and all seemed so friendly and genuinely enthusiastic about the site, I thought I'd give it a try. I also sell on my own website (redprairiepress.com) as well as to retail shops all over the country, and at craft fairs all year.

2- What is your fave thing to buy on Etsy (whether it be supplies or gifts etc.)
I haven't purchased a ton on Etsy yet, but I LOVE the
handwoven scarves I bought from PidgePidge.

3-What is your current fave product(not in your store) under 20$?
Anything from Dutch Door Press, or these
towels from Leannegraef.

4- Any advice for new sellers?
List items often, and if you run out of things to list, use the "renew" feature to just renew an item or two. Also, take great photos, and describe things as thoroughly as you can so there are no surprises to buyers.

5-And a favorite quote?
(from a song by Jon Moses) "I don't want no tombstone, let my time alive prove I was there" seems like a nice mantra.

Shoulda, Coulda, Woulda

I can't...
stand people who park in the fire lanes.
go to concerts. (I hate crowds)
Go near any pool drain.
pretend to like cats.
control myself at any thrift store.
keep my apartment clean for more than a day.
hide the fact I love the CW network.
drink any kind of beer.

I can...
actually cook pretty well.
make decisions pretty easily.
be a really good listener.
be honest with you when you need it.
watch boxsets all day w/my husband.
read really really fast.
tell you where to get what your looking for cheaper.
not want to go back to school.

I won't...
be so lazy.
be so negative about the future.
be scared to try new things.
spend my whole paycheck in a week.
take everything so personally.
take uppity peoples crap any more.
make excuses for not wanting to have children.
be anyone but myself.

I will...
try to give old people more credit instead of mercilessly mocking them.
try and learn how to drive on the highway.
conquer/control my fear of flying.
try and save more money.
take my dog for more walks.
realize I cannot control everything all the time.
actually exercise at some point.
live my life and stop making excuses.

I shouldn't...
eat after 10 but I do.
stay up so late.
shop as much as I do.
blame other people for my stuff.
make promises I can't keep.
be afraid to fail when I try something new.
put all my eggs in one basket.
half live.

I should...
travel more.
enjoy my 20's.
not be scared to try new things.
save money for an emergency.
think about the future more.
enjoy my new husband.
spend time w/my grandmother while I still have her.
have a ball learning as I go!

1-Why did you choose to sell on Etsy/ and do you sell anywhere else?
I knew of Etsy for a while before starting my shop. It always seemed like such a great community to be a part of. It also seemed pretty daunting at first, because you see how successful some sellers are and all the details that go into their shops, that you think that it's way over your head. But one day I had just had enough of my umming and ahhing and just posted some products. My photos were lame and my descriptions were definitely lacking. But as soon as i posted everything online i was motivated to make it better. The Etsy forums and community aspect definitely make it an amazing choice to sell your goodies online. I also sell at a few stores in Toronto, Ontario, Canada as well as a few stores here and their across Canada and the USA.

2- What is your fave thing to buy on Etsy (whether it be supplies or gifts etc.)
Purses! I love buying or dreaming of buying purses!

3-What is your current fave product(not in your store) under 20$?
I love this

4- Any advice for new sellers?
Baby Steps! Work everyday at your business even if it's just for 15 minutes a day. It all adds up at the end of the week/month/year.

5-And a favorite quote?
Mind your pennies and your dollars mind themselves. (I love quotes about saving money!... no idea why?)

1-Why did you choose to sell on Etsy/ and do you sell anywhere else?
I decided to sell on Etsy because it looked so easy and fun. I do alot of thrifting and always find great stuff but sometimes its not the right size for me so I know someone out there might like it. Its almost an easy way to thrift online as well. I do not sell anywhere else.

2- What is your fave thing to buy on Etsy (whether it be supplies or gifts etc.)
I ususally just look at the vintage items. I love looking at necklaces and rings. Recently I have been looking at the clothes and happen to find alot of people that are making the clothes themselves and I find alot of cute things.

3-What is your current fave product(not in your store) under 20$?
In my favorites right now I have about 10 necklaces I would love to buy all under $20.

4- Any advice for new sellers?
Have fun and get creative with your pictures, that is half the fun!

We each already had our own shops on etsy.com Dana's shop was

2- What is your fave thing to buy on Etsy (whether it be supplies or gifts etc.)
Dana: *Definitely* YARN!!!! I absolutely LOVE to buy handdyed and/or handspun yarns on etsy - there's so many amazing shops that sell that, and I adore hunting for my favorites!
Rachelle: Soap, jewelry, and paper goods! I also buy a lot of supplies for my other shop on etsy.

Rachelle:
ClaireandMeDesigns.etsy.com has the greatest cards and stickers. She has pomegranate "Keep Calm and Carry On" sticker sets that I love for less than $2.00!!
Dana: The item that I'm eye-ing right now is the "Flower Power stitch markers" from
hlmiller.etsy.com They're *so cute*!!

1-Why did you choose to sell on Etsy/ and do you sell anywhere else?
We have an exciting store in Wellington, Florida, called Treasure Consignment, where we buy, sell and consign retro, vintage and antique items, including jewelry.
We wanted to let people everywhere in the world to have an opportunity to view and purchase these unique items, which come to us through estate sales and private persons. Etsy seemed to be just the perfect place for us to open up our virtual shop. We like the easy operations, friendly staff and superior prices!

2- What is your fave thing to buy on Etsy (whether it be supplies or gifts etc.)
Our shop is so new, that we have had no time to shop around yet, but I am sure we will be finding many interesting vintage items and handmade treasures to purchase as soon as we get everything running smoothly in our own shop and have more time in our hands.

3-What is your current fave product(not in your store) under 20$?
Since we sell mostly high-end vintage jewerly, we don't have too many items in that price gategory, but the
"Sweet Illusion Pearl Earrings" are just darling for under $20!

4- Any advice for new sellers?
Just enjoy your Etsy experience, and don't be afraid to ask help if needed!

5-And a favorite quote?
Weather you create with your own hands, or travel around in search of beautiful items to offer for other's enjoyment, we at Bogigi's would like to leave these very familiar words with you:

" Treat others like you want to be treated. "

1-Why did you choose to sell on Etsy/ and do you sell anywhere else?
I chose Etsy after reading about it in Business Journal Magazine. I had been wanting to sell online for some time but was intimidated by Ebay. I have my things on a few other web site now but I don't baby them like I do Etsy. I also sell at shows, private parties and wholesale account (like I am in University of Arizona bookstore).

2- What is your fave thing to buy on Etsy (whether it be supplies or gifts etc.)
I love to by gifts for people using the shop local feature on Etsy when I need a gift to get there fast. I also get a few supplies and I love to get fun purses. My favorite was a Cheetos purse.

3-What is your current fave product(not in your store) under 20$?
Make up..I love to get eye shadows!!

4- Any advice for new sellers?
Practice taking great photos. Get you shop looking good from the bones up: good policies, good statement and be upfront with everything. ..get feedback from buying from others to start out.

5-And a favorite quote?
"Beauty is in the eye of the beholder." Why...sometimes I make something and I think it is great..and maybe it doesn't sell for a while. I make something goofy and sometimes it sells right away. You just never know what someone else will like....

Virginia is for Lovers!

Well Im sorry for the lack of posts. ME and DH took a mini vay-cay to visit an old friend of mine from middle school. ME and Shannon have been friends since 6th grade and when I moved to FL the summer after 8th grade we kept being friends.

She has been there for me thru thick and thin and even though we don't get to see each other every day, I still consider her a best friend. This trip has been amazing. I got to show DH my hometown and Shannon met my DH for the first time. She loved him naturally =) But while I have had a wonderful time visiting, I am ready to get back home and resume my routine.

But once I get back in the swing of things I will be sure to feature more under 20 items!

1-Why did you choose to sell on Etsy/ and do you sell anywhere else?
Because it feels like home, a group of family & friends with common interests. The folks in Etsyland are the ones I want wearing the vintage garments I find. I've sold items elsewhere in the web world, but nothing compares. I am a true & loyal Etsian.

2- What is your fave thing to buy on Etsy (whether it be supplies or gifts etc.)
My favorite things to buy on Etsy are typically art, both old & new. All of which end up hanging in my house. Most serve as inspiration for my own creative projects.

3-What is your current fave product(not in your store) under 20$?
Currently, I am obssessed with purchasing Vintage 60's Miller Studio's chalkware wall plaques with black backgrounds. Mostly birds & flowers. The colors are magnificent and they rarely cost more than 20$.

4- Any advice for new sellers?
When listing items, show multiple pictures & give all the info you look for when purchasing items for yourself. Be honest & be good to your fellow Etsians!

5-And a favorite quote?
Rather than a quote, how about a favorite band? Lately my brain is filled with the sounds & lyrics of Chairlift as well as Blonde Redhead. Gotta have good tunes on while photographing garments!
