I was delighted to find Esty in March of 2008, after many purchases and getting to know alot of the sellers, I knew i wanted to be part of this amazing community. Since a new year means, new beginnings, mine turned out to be opening Altered Paradise on Esty along with another online store, I am ashamed to say that I let the other one fall by the way side, however Esty has spoiled me with their easier than pie format, processes,resources and in depth help guides. I am honored to call myself an Etsian. I can spend hours shopping on Esty, throw in some of the most creative artists in the world, unusual and one of a kind pieces not to mention the inspiration I am blessed with every time I journey along the aisles of these shops, studios, galleries and boutiques. 2- What is your fave thing to buy on Etsy (whether it be supplies or gifts etc.)
With such a variety to choose from it's hard to pick a favorite, although I have to say that finding gifts for loved ones is so much easier with all the different items being offered, and then to be able to have them customized and shipped directly, can't get much simpler than that.
I will share my very personal favorite right now, its those sweet lamb cupcake toppers in JeanKnee shop, she is so talented, I think you could give her a paper cup and she would come up with something breathtaking. http://www.jeanknee.etsy.com
4- Any advice for new sellers?
If I had any advice for new sellers it would just three words- "Love One Another" it is that simple. The ultimate Creator said it first, and in the long run it will show up in sales and everything you do. It is no surprise that those that love art also love presentation and giving. Look at your customers feedback and favorites and then tuck a little surprise in their package, this kindness will come back to you. I really appreciate my feedback, but I would not take anything for my thank-you convos, some have brought me to tears :)
